Hope Delivered: Dr. Davis to Undergo Kidney Transplant November 13
During last week’s Stonecoming festivities, Livingstone College President Dr. Anthony J. Davis shared a deeply personal and hopeful update with the campus community: he has received a kidney and will undergo transplant surgery on November 13.
Dr. Davis expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Livingstone family and broader community for their unwavering support throughout his journey. “I want to thank each and every one of you for your prayers, your well wishes, and your love for not only me but my family and our beloved Livingtone College,” he said, reflecting on the power of collective compassion.
Earlier this year, Dr. Davis publicly shared his diagnosis of End Stage Renal Failure during the college’s May Commencement. That courageous moment sparked a wave of awareness and action—ultimately leading to a donor match and amplifying conversations about kidney disease in Black and Brown communities.
