Computer Information Systems

CIS Mission Statement

The Computer Information Systems (CIS) program combines the study of system analysis and design, computer architecture and operating systems, networks, telecommunications, global communications, computer programs and their application in business decision making. Students completing the program are prepared to pursue careers, graduate and professional studies, and life-long learning as needed for a changing social and technological world.

The main goals and objectives of the Computer Information Systems program are as follows:

-To provide students with a greater range of skills and understanding in all areas of Computer Information Systems development.
-To prepare students for graduate studies in Computer Information Systems and Business Administration.
-To prepare students for responsible positions in applied Computer Information Systems as well as in Computer Engineering.

All CIS students are required to maintain a 2.3 cumulative GPA for continuation of the program. CIS students are also required to join Black Data Processing Associates and pay the current student membership fees.
