Livingstone loves cheering on the Blue Bears and their 12 CIAA Division 2 varsity sports. Members of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Conference USA, the Blue Bears boast some of the nation’s finest facilities and compete against the CIAA’s top competition.

The first black intercollegiate football game played in America happened on the front lawn of Livingstone College on Dec. 27, 1982, in a matchup against Biddle Memorial Institute, which is now Johnson C. Smith University.
